Natasha had no idea that her doctor visit that day would change her life. She was twenty-eight years old and feeling perfectly healthy. The doctor had other news. He told her that she had breast cancer and she would need to undergo treatment. She was shocked. The days that followed were hard, but her family, friends and God made each day better. God renewed her mind daily and helped her through the process. The experience was one that made her cling onto God and His promises more than ever before. She made it through the treatments, but at thirty she was diagnosed again with breast cancer. The doctor told her the only option left was to have a double mastectomy.
Having the double mastectomy was difficult and she could tell it was even affecting the way she looked at herself. She had reconstructive surgery and post-mastectomy tattooing. This made her feel more complete on the outside and gave her the confidence that she once had. Finally, after recovering from the surgery, the doctor was able to tell her the words that she had been waiting to hear. She was cancer free and that she had conquered breast cancer.
We are privileged to have Natasha model our Conqueror Bracelet and her husband Daryl model the Defender Bracelet. We are also excited to help women with medical tattooing by giving 20% of our net profits from the Breast Cancer Awareness Collection to the Pink Ink Fund, a non-profit organization that offers reconstructive, post-mastectomy tattooing.
