As first time mothers await their new baby's arrival, they are filled with many emotions. The birth process can be many things: scary, messy, awe-inspiring, liberating, and miraculous. And when she is handed her newborn for the very first time, it can be one of the most rapturous moments of her life.
In Uganda, the risk of death for impoverished mothers and/or their babies is very real.
Statistics show that 1 in 49 women in Uganda will die from pregnancy/birth complications. This translates to 15 deaths per day for mothers and 94 stillbirths per day: 109 unnecessary deaths DAILY.
But there is hope. The majority of these deaths are PREVENTABLE. And YOU can directly improve their chances of survival – right from your own home.
Host a $500 party between May 1 - July 31, and Trades of Hope will gift a life-saving Mama Kit to a woman in Uganda. An additional Mama Kit will be donated for each additional $500 in party sales.
