In honor of this milestone, let's unpack a little bit of background on our humble beginnings. Trades of Hope was founded in 2010 by Gretchen, Holly, Chelsie and Elisabeth when each come to a crossroads in their lives and were looking to make a difference. They knew the best way to end poverty is by providing a sustainable business model, rather than just be a temporary solution on the problems facing developing communities. At the same time, they wanted to provide opportunities to women in the United States. A business fueled on women empowering women. This idea is the beautiful partnership between Compassionate Entrepreneurs and artisans around the world.
A Compassionate Entrepreneur (CE) is a storyteller, stylist and world-changer! Compassionate Entrepreneurs are empowering women around the world in desperate situations by selling their "Fair Trade" products through home parties, events, online parties and catalog parties. Through your sales, women will be helped out of the sex trade, slums, sweat shops, and extreme poverty! They will be able to send their children to school, put a roof over their heads, and put food on their tables.

Our small staff handled every aspect of the business, from artisan development and graphics to warehouse and shipping. We started out as a group of women with a heart to empower women out of poverty, and 7 years later, continue to be a very hands-on company, still with the same heart to bring hope to communities around the globe and helping women to become the heroes of their own story. Lives are being changed as women can now provide for their families through partnering with Trades of Hope. Although our company has grown to include over 5,000 Compassionate Entrepreneurs, we never lose sight of our mission.
We will always put the needs of the artisans first. We have become better knowing our artisans and their stories of determination motivates us to continue to grow to empower more lives around the world!
Thank you for making this 7th birthday possible and may this year be filled with even more lives being empowered out of poverty!
