We were SO thrilled to see all the support for this new group!! That is exactly what our Marketplace is all about: giving new groups an opportunity, in a trial setting, for future products. (And we heard you loud and clear!)
Since you LOVED the Rajeena Kimono so much, we were able to work with this group to develop a new product. We were so happy and proud to have introduced this new arrival, the Nikita Kimono on January 10th, 2018.
The Nikita Kimono is named after the leader of the Indian artisan group that creates it. Much more than a beautiful garment, it represents a beautiful woman fulfilling her purpose to help others. It also represents the women she helps who now see their lives as having value.
Over the years, Nikita held jobs in various fields. Still, she always longed to work with women who were at a social disadvantage. She sought opportunities to help others wherever possible to fight these injustices. She then began working with artisans in her community to create products for Trades of Hope. Nikita now says, “I have complete job satisfaction. It gives me great pleasure to see the underprivileged get help and rise through their skills. As well as helping myself.”
It is that transformation that motivates Nikita to do better each day. In her own words, she says, “It is a joy and a pleasure working with people who want to see female Indian artisans rise to greater heights. To become independent, and help the underprivileged achieve. I feel great pride to be a part of something that helps these women be all they're meant to be. I am more encouraged each day as I see artisans being transformed.”
Nikita also has dreams and goals of her own. She wants to expand the range of products her group makes. She wants to generate more employment and bring high quality products to the people. She wants to empower more women to experience a life filled with purpose, goals, and hope for the future.
You, too, can partner with Trades of Hope to help empower women around the world out of poverty. When you join our sisterhood, you can sell beautiful accessories made by artisans like Nikita while also earning an income for yourself.
