This year, we surprised one of our artisans groups from Guatemala to fly in for the retreat.
“Meeting the Guatemalan group was great, because we got to hear, first hand, the change made in their lives”, CE Susan Spina said, “And knowing that those girls are only a few of the artisans we help, makes this so much more powerful”.
The change where these women can provide for their families through their own business. This change is not only continuing in our artisans’ lives, but also multiplying in their communities. Trades of Hope has now partnered with 6,585 artisans and touched an additional 26,612 lives in these artisans’ communities.
Founders Holly Wehde, Gretchen Huijskens, Chelsie Antos, and Elisabeth Huijskens shared their vision Saturday night and announced the new Gifts of Hope for 2015. Gifts of Hope is a donation given out of our net profits to life-changing causes. The Gifts of Hope for 2015 will be towards ending the sex industry.
We are honored to partner with such strong, smart women and believe together we can help even more women out of poverty in 2015. It is never too late to make a difference, so mark your calendar for January 21-23, 2016 for the next training retreat and take a part in ending poverty everywhere!
