This is the truth that drives Rapha House in its efforts to love and heal children who have been rescued from trafficking and sexual exploitation. The nonprofit organization uses proven solutions to rehabilitate and empower these young survivors while effortlessly pursuing the prevention of trafficking and exploitation around the world.
This isn't all, however. Rapha House seeks justice on an even higher level. They strategically build alliances with humanitarian and government agencies to combat trafficking and its causes. Here is a personal case of a precious little girl that Rapha House is loving on:
"N" is new to our safe house. She is incredibly wounded and has been a very difficult case. I have spent hours holding her, sweating and praying over her, all at the same time. But during all of this I have also come to love her. She has many problems and it is difficult to keep her safe, even from herself. It does seem that she knows that we care about her and she has begun to show signs of trust. I have been stopping by to see her several times a day as our staff keeps careful watch over her, to make sure she is safe and that she is beginning to stabilize. Recently, I went home to get some extra rest because I wasn't feeling well. As it turned out, "N" heard that I was sick and had been asking the housemothers about me. When I returned to work and went to check in on her, she asked if I was sick. I told her that I was feeling much better. She then put her arms around my waist and tucked her head down by her arms. I eventually put my hands on the sides of her face and gently brought her face up so I could see her eyes. What I did not expect to see were tears running down her face. Another little girl asked me why "N" was crying, and I realized that it was because she was worried about me- she knows that I care about her, and she is beginning to care too. We may not be able to "fix" her, but we can show "N" that she is loved. That is what the work of Rapha House, and loving God is all about- loving "the least of these". We love her. We love this broken, difficult, and very wounded child, and she knows it."
